It's pretty much ALLLLLLLLLL work. Since I started selling my work locally, a lot of things have changed. I have an income, which is great, but it's not the work I'd really love to be doing; it's ceramic ornaments and jewellery basically. I don't have anything bad to say about making money but sometimes I feel I've lost the joy of making. In the last month there's been 2 times I truly felt connected to what I do and inspired and in love with my choice of career again. One was doing a smoke firing in my garden; I'd made some paper clay vessels, with a mix of commercial brush-on glazes and old raku glazes that have lived in my studio since I

Still here, had no idea it had been so long since the last journal! Life's changed quite a lot; I've had a baby (horribly sick while pregnant), which hasn't allowed me to work much in the last year. Plus, I'm on maternity leave right now. We're planning for my boyfriend to start working with me when I go back to work, doing all the finances, web stuff and sales. Things that tend to hold me back when all I want to do is go for it with the clay. I think that's a good plan. Got a group exhibition around Easter time, currently there's 3 of us but we're hoping to add at least 2 more people. Then I have fairs in the summer, 2 Open Studios events

Rollercoaster

I've had a very busy few months. Between craft fairs, the local Open Studios event and this that and the other I have been completely swamped with work. I suffered an emotional setback in November when my much loved grandmother passed away. At the time I was working on a body of work relating to my family entitled "Arvsynden" (Swedish for "Original Sin" but the direct translation of "Inherited Sin" suits it better, in my opinion) and I had to stop working on that particular project as I couldn't cope with the feelings it was bringing up.
